What a time in photography - with major developments from Canon, Nikon and Epson, the time has never been so ripe as a photographer technologically speaking. Both Nikon and Canon are in the midst of releasing their state-of-the-art new ranges. These cameras are high resolution, high ISO, high speed monsters, that are transforming photography. Both as an artist and as a commissioned photographer, the tools of our trade are absolutely astonishing. Epson also has released a new range of printers that are pushing the envelope of archival stability, colour gamut and speed. In-house we have the 64 inch Epson printer, allowing MI to supply the highest quality and longest life canvases. With giclee prints and canvas being able to be printed up to 1.5 metres (60 inches) on the short side, that means it can be as long as 2.2 metres (90 inches) on the long side whilst still maintaing the 35mm format ...
I am excited by these developments, and they help to inspire me to continue to pursue the dream of photography. As these tools simplify the process involved in obtaining high quality results, this means more energy can go into the art, the creation, the client and the subject.
I would also like to say a big thanks to everybody who came to ART MELBOURNE and helped to make it a big success, we hope to see you all again soon.
